PLANTING CHANGE FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

We believe in the power of plants
to deliver amazing taste while reducing impact to our planet

We’re on a journey to a regenerative future and reducing our impact from soil to serving, while creating food that tastes absolutely delicious. That’s why we’re committed to getting more people to join us on our mission – because eating more plant-based food today means a better world tomorrow.

On the rise with regeneration

We believe in a regenerative future.

We’re working to go beyond sustainability, embracing a way of farming that benefits farmers, the environment, and society– known as regenerative agriculture.

Regenerative farming practices are approaches to farming that, over time, can support healthy soil and improve biodiversity. And these aren’t new methods – humans across the world have used them for thousands of years.

We started working with our soy protein supplier in Serbia to transition to regenerative agriculture in 2022. For example, we support the use of organic fertilisers to help restore the natural balance of the soil. We’re also promoting biodiversity by for example planting trees next to crops – the perfect home for wildlife. Our dream? Birds, bees, humans, and plants – all living in happy harmony!

By the end of 2023, our support to farmers to grow soy protein with regenerative methods equals 50% of the volumes of soy protein we use. We aim to increase this every year!

OUR EMISSIONS MISSION

We did a complete analysis of our business to find the three most important areas  to reduce our carbon emissions: ingredients, operations and packaging.

Quality ingredients and farming practices are key to great food. We’re committed to trying to reduce our carbon footprint from soil to serving, which is why the soy protein we use is increasingly grown in Europe. In fact, half of our soy protein is already from right here in Europe and this is just the start.

Meanwhile, we’re not slacking when it comes to our factories. Our efforts to reduce energy consumption are underway, and we’re delighted that all our factories in Europe already use 100% renewable electricity. Nice!

Another crucial part of reducing our emissions is reducing our packaging footprint – and that’s exactly what we will do.

NO TIME TO WASTE

It’s essential to us that our packaging seals in every bit of freshness and flavour – and looks great too. But we wanted to go further, creating packs that tick all those boxes while being lighter and kinder to our planet.

This year, we’re removing the paper sleeve from the packaging, with a design that’s not only recyclable but has 36% less packaging than before.

Alongside, we continue our packaging journey. Working with a team of expert partners we’re exploring what we humbly call ‘The Packaging of the Future’ – with the goal of having a sustainable packaging (and therefore a lower footprint) without sacrificing quality, safety, or taste.

We’re super excited about our packaging journey and can’t wait to tell you more soon.
